FULL-LENGTH PLAYS

1790; A TALE NOT OFTEN TOLD

First produced at Lend Lease Theatre. A full length play exploring the extraordinary relationship between Sydney's first governor, Arthur Phillip, and Bennelong of the Eora people. Written by historian Robert Thomson and multi-award-winning playwright Pete Malicki.

This important play explores a chapter of Australian history not often told: of the early efforts some of the British colonisers made to forge positive relationships with local Indigenous Australians. Governor Arthur Phillip saw the value in collaborating with the locals and sought to build friendships between the two peoples. 1790; a tale not often told takes place before the white colonisers committed many great atrocities against the Indigenous people.

This play is suitable for high school productions.

ROOM

Produced at Sydney Fringe Festival 2012, named as one of two highlights of the festival. Published by EmuScripts
Five strangers wake up to discover that they've been kidnapped and dumped in an empty room. They try to work out why they have been put there, drawing parallels to movies such as Cube or Saw. As time goes by and they try to work out who is bringing them food every time they are knocked out by a poisonous gas, it becomes clear they will not be set free. Creativity becomes their way of coping with their new reality as they discover that food and shelter aren't all a human being needs to survive.

 DRAMA | 2 ACTS |   3 MALE, 3 FEMALE

UNHOLY IMPUNITY

Shell discovers, much to her dismay, that her best friend Nina has agreed to go to her psycho ex-boyfriend's birthday party. Even worse, she's told him Shell will come too. To show Phil how much they don't care, Shell convinces Nina to get him a book he is bound to hate - a childish guide to summoning demons from other dimensions. After being rejected by both girls at his party and having a miserable time, Phil decides to try one of the rituals from his new book and manages to successfully summon Father Time to do his bidding. It's too much power for one evil man to hold, but will there be consequences?

V.D. - FULL LENGTH

Originally an award-winning 10 minute monologue, V.D. has been extended to a full-length one-woman show!

This one-woman comedy explores the life of Sophie, a 35-year-old romantic who likes a bit too much gin. We join her as she falls in and out of love, struggles with power plays in her new job, and travels to India on a journey of spiritual (un)enlightenment.
